NEWS


News is packaged information about current events happening somewhere. In another word nwes is a special(specific) kind of information. News is a collection of events, only few event get chance to be a news. The word 'news' is belived derived from word 'Nawa' meaning new or Latin word 'Novo' which also means new. News moves through many different media, based on word of mouth, printing,broadcasting, and electronic communication. Every human being is interested to konw about new thing. 




In another word news is described events from four directions North, East, West and South mean that news is infromation recived from all directions. But any events or any events does not make news. The biggest news will be given first in the bulletin or on page one of the paper, in detail, lesser news will be given in less detail later in the bulletin or an inside page; and the rubbish will have been thrown away.It is not easy to define the news though it has been defined in various ways. Many exports has defined news some of them are:

In order to present a news story s reporter must have answer of the following questions.

  • What happened?
  • Who where involved?
  • When it happened?
  • Where it happened?
  • Why it happened?
  • How it happened?

Information regarding these fine WS and one H is necessary to satisfy the curiosity about an event. Among these, newspapers concentrate mainly on what, who, when and where aspects of news while magazines prefer why and how aspects of news.

News is a 'product' too. As a product, it is gathered, processed, packaged and sold by newspapers, news agencies, radio, TV, e-papers etc. So another way to learn about news is to study newspaper, listen radio, watch TV or suefing the net to know what they present as news.

News at present 

 A significant changes can be seen in the notion of news over the course of time. When press was started in a nation there was only few media to provide information to the people. There used to be a censorship on media which News is to be published or not. There used to be few tools and technologies to collect news or information.

At present there are many publication to publish news. There is no censorship on media. There are various kind of media like print, audio and visual. Now a day's media is considered as fourth state of government. Previously a journalist cannot earn much by selling news but now a day's journalist can sell news to any media. We can get news frequently whereas there used to be problem to collect news. The technologies have helped a lot for the change in the notion of news.
